Hundreds of bikini clad women have gathered in protest outside Facebook offices around the world this week.
The social networking site has banned hundreds of photos of women in bikinis indicating they are obscene due to the amount of breast showing. Apparently it violates the sites terms of use. Users who have posted photos in protest have been banned from the site... Banned from Facebook for a photo? What's going on?!

Oh wait a minute! I've got my wires crossed... It's not women in bikinis that are banned... feel free to post as many of those as you like. "Pages called Big T..s, Big Knockers, How Big are your T..s?, Small, Big, or Saggy T..s - a quiz, are still going along nicely" *
So, what is banned? Pictures of women breastfeeding!
Breastfeeding photos are bad, but other partial nudity of women is not? Well that's according to Facebook.
Now I know that people still have issues with women feeding their children in a natural way and I respect their right of opinion. I for one support a women to feed her child however she is best able. However, when a mother is feeding her child (as advised by the World Health Organisation) and she chooses to post a photo for her family and friends to see... that is her right. I know when I am lucky enough to have a child one day, I want to try and breastfeed my baby, and as is my personal choice I'll probably try to do so without showing my skin to those in the vicinity. But I can't post a photo on a free social networking site?
Some people have posted opinion on news articles covering the protests that have occurred saying "If you disagree with the sites terms of use, don't use Facebook" ... Sure, agreed. BUT if this site allows pictures of scantily clad women at the beach or anywhere for that matter, which is just as legal as breastfeeding...isn't this a double-standard?
If only those people with so much influence on the internet focused on the issues that are destroying families like pornography, rather than a women trying to feed her child.
How about we see how many photos of women in bikinis who are breastfeeding we can post?
